MazaOnline.com Hacked – How to prevent yourself from being hacked

One of the famous chit chat download website has been “hacked”!
They have been hacked by Snipeer-Hack(SnIpeer-HaCk@hotmail.com) &  QaTel AlYaHoD(c.5f@hotmail.com).

How to prevent yourself from hacking?:

1) Be careful from hackers – Block/Delete them from your MSN/YIM Lists
2) Cmod all the files as the Read.txt file of your script says..1 exploit found and BOOM! You won’t have your site the next day..
3) Take daily SQL + All files backups to secure your site and prevent a huge loss
4) Scan your PC with Nod32 or Kaspersky AV to prevent Keyloggers and being hacked
5) Change your password every 30 days
6) Use a Random Password
7) If you suspect that your PC has a KeyLogger – Copy Paste the password in the field, Do not type it!
8 ) Scan your PC every 3 days and keep the database updated
9) Use a secured Hoster or if you own a server make sure its secured
10) Remember the secret Question and Answer of your accounts
11) If you own a Forum or a Blog, make a Hidden/Secret Admin
12) Avoid keeping the same password  for all your accounts
13) Do not enter Credit Card/Account details on non “https://” sites
14) Do not download/run untrusted files, images, softwares etc.
15) Password protect Firefox using the Master Password Option(Hacker cannot get your passwords if he sniffs your Firefox with password stealer)
16) and I have added another to the list : Stay away from GODADDY!!

    I’ve only had it happen once on one of my sites, I’m very careful with these things. I don’t know how they got in – I think it was through the host because the host said they had some problems. Forutnately no data loss – they just replaced my index page with some stupid index.html page with hacked by turkish hackers text. Just removed it, changed my password, put up htaccess to ban the ips and haven’t had anymore problem.

    These hackers get in by c99 shell.. if your having a download/upload site or you have a writable directory.. its very easy to transfer the c99 shell to your server.. run it and get your passwords. I only know this for knowledge(basically read it somewhere) 🙂
