7 ways to encourage your readers to comment on your blog
Your going on making blog posts.. but who is really reading them? If your readers do not comment on your blog, you could probably use the following ways to encourage them to comment:
1) The 1st thing is to ask your readers to comment. Ask your readers to give their suggestions/opinions on how to make your blog better. Trust me, this helps! 😉
2) Run contests? You could probably run a small contest with a $10 prize for a week for the top commentator of your blog. But don’t expect them to come back.. If your running a contest and giving out an ebook or maybe a T-Shirt with your blogs logo on it? That would be better, I suppose.
3) You could probably comment 1st – “I forgot to mention…”
4) Making your blog DO FOLLOW is a good way to encourage your readers to comment 🙂
5) Adding the top commentators widget on the sidebar is another amazing way of getting comments on your blog. This encourages the readers to get a free back link on every page of your blog(just like the blogroll) without spending a dime 😉
6) Quality content speaks!
7) If your posting videos, make sure you do something funny or ask a question before ending the video. That gives your readers another reason to comment 😀

While I agree on some of your tips, I am not really recommending being a Do-Follow although I can consider it as a gift only. This is because they may leave a comment only because of this, instead of doing it for the real purpose.
Anyway, I would like to add one more if you don’t mind – Don’t scare them. Some bloggers still use Captha or mathematical problems as a proof that the commentator is human. In that case, I withdraw my comment. I cannot understand that logic when the blog owner can moderate his comments if he wishes to.
Just my 2 cents.

For me, all links are do-follow. The first post, and any with two or more links in the body, are moderated. Akismet and STBV guard the gates.
Iif someone were to use this information to sabotage my blogs, they would also learn that I know how to blacklist a url. My readers deserve good content and I’m not going to let a spammer ruin things for all of us.

I don’t use these spam filters as many commentators use their blogs link in their siggy and these filters might block/delete the comment which is legit..I manually approve those comments as many of them are legit 🙂

Two other methods that can help to encourage comments are allowing DoFollow links (removing default nofollow attributes so that “link juice” is passed to the sites) and installing the KeywordLuv plugin, which significantly helps commenters with SEO because it allows them to choose the anchor text for links.
Overall, it is a good thing to encourage comments because the extra content provided by other people adds more keywords to your posts, which in turn brings in more traffic from the search engines without costing you any more time than it takes to write the original post.

I’ve been browsing on-line greater than three hours
lately, but I never found any fascinating article like yours.
It’s pretty price enough for me. In my opinion, if all
webmasters and bloggers made excellet content material
as you did, the web will likely be much more helpful
than ever before.
