How to prevent yourself from hacking?:

1) Be careful from hackers – Block/Delete them from your MSN/YIM Lists
2) Cmod all the files as the Read.txt file of your script says..1 exploit found and BOOM! You won’t have your site the next day..
3) Take daily SQL + All files backups to secure your site and prevent a huge loss

5) Change your password every 30 days
6) Use a Random Password

I’ve only had it happen once on one of my sites, I’m very careful with these things. I don’t know how they got in – I think it was through the host because the host said they had some problems. Forutnately no data loss – they just replaced my index page with some stupid index.html page with hacked by turkish hackers text. Just removed it, changed my password, put up htaccess to ban the ips and haven’t had anymore problem.

These hackers get in by c99 shell.. if your having a download/upload site or you have a writable directory.. its very easy to transfer the c99 shell to your server.. run it and get your passwords. I only know this for knowledge(basically read it somewhere) 🙂
